Youth on Trails - Volunteer Opportunities
Do you want to get involved? There are various opportunities and ways to support Youth on Trails by volunteering to make these activities happen. Volunteers will help support these activities in a variety of ways based on individuals’ skills and experience, and you don’t necessarily need to be a mountain biker.
Opportunities include:
- Assisting with youth mountain biking skills programs
- This could include encouraging youth in a positive way, helping kids know where they’re supposed to be, and providing support to youth as they practice skills taught by the instructor(s) leading the program

- Share a bike-related topic with a group of participants that you are knowledgeable about
- Examples could include
- Share with the group what different signs at a trailhead mean
- Model how to correctly fit and secure your helmet
- Share information on an invasive species that our group may be able to identify as we spend time outdoors
- Examples could include
- Help with the general logistics of a busy activity! This is great for non-bikers who want to help out. You might:
- Help move equipment like bikes and helmets to/from a trailer
- Help set up equipment for activities like cones, flags, and mobile skills elements
- Refill a water jug to keep our riders hydrated
- Cheer on our youth, many of who might be trying a bike for the first time
