Project Overview:

Athletic Venue Reinvestment Initiative Funds will support improvements to Wade Stadium, including brown turf replacement and repairing the building envelope. Building improvements will focus on issues related to structural integrity, water filtration, and life safety concerns in order to extend the lifespan and enjoyment of Wade Stadium. Areas of improvement include roof system replacement/repair, exterior door replacements, repairs to masonry openings, and brick tuckpointing and replacement.

Project Update:

A contract has been awarded to AstroTurf to replace the areas of brown turf on the field at Wade Stadium. The replacement work is expected to take place in late summer or early fall 2024.

The City is working with TKDA to provide on-site investigation of building systems, develop construction drawings and specifications, assist with project biddings, and conduct construction administration and observation. Project work and specification are expected to be put out for bid in late summer or early fall 2024.
