Demographic Data

The City of Duluth is the 5th largest city in the state, behind only Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Rochester, and Bloomington according to the State Demographic Center. It is the principal city in the Duluth-Superior MN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA),which includes St. Louis and Carlton County in Minnesota and Douglas County in Wisconsin. Duluth and St. Louis County are the largest city and county in the region, and the city accounts for 26.5% of the Northeast planning region.  Duluth is adjacent to the cities of Proctor, Hermantown, and Rice Lake, and the townships of Thomson (Carlton County), Midway, Canosia, Lakewood, and Duluth.
