The City of Duluth's Economic Development Department is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, sustainable economy by promoting business growth, job retention, and industrial development. We achieve this through strategic public-private partnerships and a comprehensive range of services that support local businesses, new entrepreneurs, and community development. We strive to make Duluth a prime location for both existing businesses to thrive and new businesses to grow. With our dedicated team, we are committed to providing the resources and support necessary for success.
Our department plays a key role in supporting economic development throughout Duluth. We serve as a conduit for the purchase of publicly-owned land within the city, help connect businesses with prime real estate opportunities, and collaborate with partners at the County, State, and Federal levels to address infrastructure needs. We also provide staff support for the Duluth Economic Development Authority,(DEDA), which is guided by seven volunteer Commissioners appointed by the Mayor, including three City Council members and four citizen representatives.
