2026 Street Preservation Project 2255- Morley Heights- Updates

2026 Street Preservation Project-general comments on work schedule:

For properties with un-permitted private retaining walls, private utilities, lights, gardens, trees, etc. in the right-of-way (ROW), it is up to the owner to remove or salvage them for the work and replace them at their own expense. If they are damaged or must be removed for the work, the City will notify owners of the project with a letter and schedule a public meeting to address the work in the ROW before construction. During construction, efforts will be made to notify owners of ROW impacts. If it is covered under a Concurrent Use Permit, then there are similar requirements in that permit.

We will try to maintain mail and garbage service. Coordination with residents and garbage will happen during construction. It is helpful to have your address on your garbage cans in case we must move them.
Any mailboxes that need to be removed for the work to be completed can only be replaced with a MnDOT-approved breakaway /swinging mailbox. As the project nears completion, we will be installing these and try to salvage your existing box to put on it. If you have questions about this, you may talk to the inspector on-site.

We will try to maintain access unless we are pouring your driveway, at which point we will knock on your door and work with you, as we will need to allow about a week to pour your driveway and allow for curing before you can drive on it.

Milling and paving the street will be scheduled once a group of streets have the concrete work completed. The streets will be reposted “No Parking” for each of those operations again. There might be 2-3 week delays in final concrete work and paving so we can have enough streets prepared to make paving cost effective.
