2026 Street Preservation Project 2092- Gary New Duluth, Duluth Heights, Chester Park, and UMD- Updates
2026 Street Preservation Project-general comments on work schedule:
We will try to maintain mail and garbage service.
We will try to maintain access unless we are pouring your driveway, at which point we will knock on your door and work with you as we will need to allow about a week to pour your driveway and allow for curing before you can drive on it.
Milling and paving the street will be scheduled once a group of streets have the concrete work completed. The streets will be reposted “No Parking” for each of those operations again.
July 27th, 2026 update:
Gary-New Duluth:
Storm work will continue the week of the 25thth along with concrete removals (concrete curb and gutter and driveways).
- Gary Street - restoration and striping left.
- W Dickson Street – waiting for a storm structure at the creek crossing, once that is installed, paving can be completed.
- Hudson Boulevard - completed – Restoration remaining.
Duluth Heights:
The watermain replacement project is completed. Reclaiming the week of July 27th:
- Chambersburg Ave
Kenwood:
No start date scheduled for 13th yet.
- E 13th Street
Lowering manhole and removals continuing the week of July 20th. Concrete removals, storm repairs and reclaiming will happen the week of July 27th for the following streets:
- Fern Ave.
- Martha Street
- Howtz Ave.
- Cliff Ave.
- Hawkins Street
- Boulevard Place
Chester Park-UMD:
Manhole lowering and reclaiming the week of July 27th:
- Elizabeth Street
July 20th, 2026 update:
