HUD PRO Housing Grant
The City of Duluth submitted its FY24 Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grant is designed to help cities overcome barriers to affordable housing production and preservation.
About the Grant: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) program empowers communities that are actively taking steps to remove barriers to affordable housing and seeking to increase housing production and lower housing costs over the long term. The PRO Housing program helps communities expand affordable housing by addressing barriers caused by outdated zoning, land use policies, or regulations; inefficient procedures; gaps in available resources for development; deteriorating or inadequate infrastructure; lack of neighborhood amenities; or challenges to preserving existing housing stock such as increasing threats from natural hazards, redevelopment pressures, or expiration of affordability requirements.
