Raleigh St Reconstruction

The City of Duluth is preparing for the reconstruction of Raleigh Street between Grand Avenue and 59th Avenue West in 2024. This reconstruction project will include a full reconstruction of the street, sidewalks, and utilities from Grand Avenue to 59th Avenue West, as well as multimodal improvements for cyclists and other light-weight human and electric powered devices. Two previous public meetings have been hosted for this project and based on public feedback, a design alternative has been selected and is shown below. This proposed design will reduce the road width and promote traffic calming while providing a shared use path and wider boulevards for the neighborhood. Design engineering will be conducted by LHB Corp. and overseen by the City of Duluth. This project will be financed by the City of Duluth through Minnesota State Aid for Streets funds. Given the availability of these non-local funds, property owners will not be assessed to pay for this project.
