Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory
Mission Statement: The mission of the Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory is to protect birds of prey and other migratory birds in the Western Lake Superior Region through research, education, and stewardship.
Metropolitan Interstate Commission (MIC)
The MIC works to identify issues, assess conditions, gather public input and prioritize infrastructure investments to meet current and future needs with regard to transportation planning and bikeways in the Duluth-Superior area.
Northern Minnesota Track Club (NMTC)
Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide trail-running events in which we can all participate in and have fun. Many of our races take place on challenging courses, which is part of the fun. Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of ability. Our trail runs are places where you can test and improve your fitness, enjoy the outdoors, and mingle with fellow runners.
Duluth Drift-Toppers Snowmobile Club
The DriftToppers Snowmobile club was formed in 1969, by snowmobile enthusiasts from the eastern part of Duluth and the surrounding townships. The eastern trails you ride, from Lester Park near Superior Street, to the North Shore Trail trailhead are the result of the efforts of these individuals.
Hermantown Night Riders Snowmobile Club
The Hermantown Night Riders snowmobile club developed and maintains 59 miles of Grant-In-Aid trail connecting the Munger Trail in the South, North to Fish Lake and the North Shore trail. Running through Duluth, Proctor, Hermantown, Rice Lake, and Fredenberg, Minnesota
Superior Hiking Trail (SHT)
Mission Statement: To build, maintain, manage and promote the Superior Hiking Trail, a 300+ mile footpath along the ridgeline of the North Shore of Lake Superior from Wisconsin to just short of the Canadian border.
North Star Bicycle Route (US Bicycle Route 41)
USBR 41 combines existing roads and mixed-use paths and trails to create a bicycle route that winds its way through some of Minnesota’s most beloved and popular locations.
