Park Description
This 2.5-acre park in the Denfeld neighborhood was named after the Merritt family, founders of Oneota Township, a predecessor to West Duluth. Merritt Park features basketball and pickleball courts, a playground, multiuse field, and a public orchard.
Improvements at Merritt Park were completed in 2022 with funding through the St. Louis River Corridor Initiative. The project included a new accessible sidewalk, portable restroom enclosure, sport court, and playground drainage improvements with replacement of the fall zone to install engineered wood fiber.
