Park Description

Duluth’s Lakewalk consists of nearly eight miles of paved pedestrian and bicycle trail stretching from Bayfront Park to Brighton Beach (Kitchi Gammi Park), much of it along the Lake Superior Shore. Originally built in 1986 as a half-mile path, the Lakewalk was extended over the years with the help of a local group called Friends of the Lakewalk.

Construction is taking place along the portion in front of the hotels in Canal Park for shoreline mitigation caused by previous storm events. The area under construction is closed. Access to lighthouse is still available, and you can access the Lakewalk from Gichi-ode' Akiing to Brighton Beach (Kitchi Gammi Park).
