City Attorney

Criminal Division

The City Attorney's Criminal Division prosecutes gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor criminal offenses and petty misdemeanor and city ordinance violations. Prosecutors function as ministers of justice in the court system, promote safety for crime victims and the public, and seek to hold offenders accountable for their actions.

If you are not represented by an attorney, a prosecutor will be available to discuss your case at your first court appearance. When checking in with the court (Room 133), let them know you wish to speak with the prosecutor.

Call the Court Administrator at 218-726-2460 (option 4) and ask about the status of your case or request a schedule change.  For closed cases, public information is available at http://www.mncourts.gov/publicaccess

The City Attorney’s Office does not take payment of fines. See The MN Judicial Branch’s options and contact information at http://www.mncourts.gov/Pay-a-Fine.aspx

The Duluth courthouse has walk-in appointments for resolving warrants on Wednesday (8:00 AM and 1:00 PM) and Thursday (8:00 AM) each week. Check-in at room 133 and let them know you wish to appear for your warrant.
