Structure Fire at 2402 W Fourth Street
[DULUTH, MN] Just after 4:00 am on Thursday, May 18, Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 2402 W Fourth Street. DPD was first on scene and observed flames visible in the second story of the up/down duplex. DFD was on scene within minutes. 1 Tower and 1 Engine attacked the fire and ventilated the building, knocking down the flames. 2 Engine, who was out on a fire alarm call in Lincoln Park, arrived on scene shortly after.
All residents evacuated the building safely, as did one house cat. Three residents are displaced by the fire. Residents are being assisted by the American Red Cross. No injuries were reported by residents or firefighters. Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $25,000.
Duluth Fire Department thanks the Duluth Police Department, Public Works and Utilities, and Minnesota Power for their assistance on scene. The fire is under investigation by Duluth Fire Department’s Fire Marshal’s office.
