Enger Tower and Aerial Lift Bridge Lighting Request
All lightings will begin 30 minutes before sunset and end 30 minutes after sunrise.
The City of Duluth uses colored lighting to illuminate Enger Tower and the Aerial lift Bridge in observance of the following public Minnesota holidays.
- New Year's Day
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- President's Day
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Indigenous Peoples Day
- Veterans Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Aerial Lift Bridge
The Aerial Lift Bridge shall otherwise only be lit at the sole discretion of the Mayor. The City of Duluth will not consider requests to light the Aerial Lift Bridge.
Enger Tower
The City of Duluth will consider requests from 501c(3) non-profit organizations to light Enger Tower. These requests will generally commemorate widely recognized or historical events, or recognize a specific occasion or person of local, statewide, or national significance.
The City of Duluth will not consider requests of a private nature like birthdays, wedding anniversaries, or graduations. The City of Duluth will also deny requests that violate the Minnesota Human Rights Act or aim to promote any religious or political issue, cause, campaign, individual, or institution.
The City of Duluth provides this opportunity as a public service. Enger Tower lightings do not imply endorsement of any organization or topic by the City of Duluth.
Requests shall be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the lighting request date.
