Temporary closure of 100 block of E Michigan Street tomorrow

[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth will temporarily close a section of E Michigan Street tomorrow, September 2, 2026,  to allow contractors to use a crane between the I-35 on-ramp and Second Avenue E. The closure will begin at 6:00 AM and will last until late afternoon September 2. The work will not affect access to northbound I-35 and the on-ramp will remain open.

 

A detour will be signed and posted directing eastbound traffic as follows:

 

E Michigan Street > First Avenue E > E Superior Street > Second Avenue E > E Michigan Street.

 

Drivers utilizing this segment of roadway should expect traffic delays during this closure and should consider alternate routes of travel when possible. The City of Duluth appreciates drivers’ patience during the closure.
