City of Duluth to temporarily close 100 block of E First Street

 

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] Beginning Thursday, April 30, 2026, the City of Duluth will close the 100 block of E First Street to complete work on a steam line and the road repair above it. The section of E First Street will remain closed until Monday, May 4, 2026 to allow the concrete to properly cure. A detour will be posted.

Parking access, including access to the HART ramp, will be maintained but must be accessed from E Second Avenue.

 

Detour routes are as follows:

 

  • Westbound traffic: First Street > 2nd Ave E > Superior Street > 1st Ave E > First Street
  • Eastbound traffic: First Street > 1st Ave E > Second Street > 2nd Ave E > First Street
