City of Duluth to close the 100 block of East First Street to traffic beginning Tuesday, February 3, 2026

 

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth will close the 100 block of East First Street to vehicle traffic on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 to allow crews to safely perform utility work. The repair is expected to require two weeks to complete, but may last longer depending on condition severity. During this closure, a posted detour will be available using First and Second Avenues and Superior Street. Access to the HART parking ramp and a private parking lot will be maintained; on-street parking may be limited at times.

 

Drivers should avoid the area if possible. The detour route is as follows:

 

Eastbound: E First Street > N First Avenue E > E Superior Street > N Second Avenue E > E First Street

Westbound: E First Street > N Second Avenue E > E Superior Street > N First Avenue E > E First Street
