Mayor Emily Larson to host City Hall in the City on Snow Operations tomorrow, October 19

[Duluth, MN] Mayor Emily Larson and City staff will host a City Hall in the City: Let’s Talk about Snow meeting tomorrow, October 19, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually and live-streamed on the City of Duluth’s Facebook page.

The City of Duluth is poised to declare its first-ever snow emergency this winter. Over 2,200 snow emergency signs were installed over the summer which will allow the City not only to create snow emergency routes, but to declare a snow emergency. Mayor Larson and City staff from Parking Services, Planning and Economic Development, Public Works and Utilities, the Human Rights Office, and more, will provide residents and visitors what they need to know about what to do when a snow emergency has been declared.

The City Hall in the City series is a unique opportunity for Duluth residents to have conversations with the mayor and connect with city decision-makers in one place on topics and emerging issues that are important to residents. The remaining series topics will include information on housing, and public safety. These events also provide City staff with the opportunity to share a first-hand account of upcoming plans, information, and significant initiatives happening in your neighborhood and across the entire City.

Due to the pandemic, the meetings will be held virtually. Residents are encouraged to email questions ahead of time to info@duluthmn.gov  with “City Hall in the City” in the subject line. Questions will be addressed during the open question and answer time. The series will be streamed live on the City’s Facebook account. As a reminder, you do not need a Facebook account to view the stream.

All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate in these one-hour sessions. The 2021 dates and times are as follows:

  • Tuesday, October 19 | 6 p.m. | Snow Operations| Facebook Live
  • Tuesday, November 16 | 8:30 a.m. | Housing | Facebook Live
  • Monday, December 6 | 12 p.m. | Public Safety | Facebook Live
