City to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss Improvements at Piedmont Park
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division will hold an informational meeting to discuss improvements to Piedmont Park in 2020. The meeting will take place from 5:00-6:30 pm on Wednesday, March 4th at Piedmont Community Recreation Center, located at 2302 W 23rd St. All are welcome to attend.
Planned updates to the park will primarily consist of drainage improvements to the current amenities. Stormwater management was highlighted as a significant concern in the Piedmont Park Mini-Master Plan, which was approved by the City Council in 2016. Thanks to the support of federal grant funds, the City will proceed with these improvements. During the public meeting, the timeline and other details of the project will be shared.
The Mini-Master Plan acts as a guiding document for both the City and community partners. More information about the Piedmont Park Mini-Master Plan can be found on the City of Duluth Parks website: www.duluthmn.gov/parks/parks-planning/st-louis-river-corridor/piedmont-park.
