Duluth Police Respond to a Deputy Involved Vehicle Crash

At approximately 12:15 p.m., Duluth Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Woodland Avenue near Saint Paul Avenue. Initial information shows a Saint Louis County Deputy was traveling northbound on Woodland Avenue while responding with emergency lights and sirens to a house fire in St Louis County jurisdiction. The Deputy rear-ended a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Woodland Avenue approaching the intersection of Saint Paul Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, a 69-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Two of the three other passengers, a 57-year-old female and 78-year-old female, were transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. This remains an active and ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
