Media Advisory: City of Duluth to host dedication event for new Woodland Pump Station
Wednesday, October 28, 2026 | 2:00 PM | Woodland Pump Station, 3405 E Fourth Street, Duluth
[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth’s Public Works and Utilities Department will host a ribbon cutting and dedication event of the new Woodland Pump Station on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM. The station will be dedicated to the department’s late chief engineer, Eric Shaffer, whose work while with the City led to lead service line replacement in underserved communities and led to the replacement of the old Woodland pump station.
The Woodland pump station began construction in 2024, and construction was finalized this year. City staff will host tours of the new facility and provide a brief history of the replacement of the facility. The event is open to the public.
