Structure fire on 3900 block of Maxwell Avenue

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] On Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 12:10 pm, Duluth Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on the 3900 block of Maxwell Avenue. A single-family dwelling had a fire in its basement.  

Firefighters from Woodland, Downtown Headquarters, Lakeside, UMD, and Spirit Valley stations responded to the incident. Firefighters were able to quickly attack the fire from the exterior of the building and extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported in the incident. One resident is displaced by the fire.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $50K. The incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s office.
