City Sounds is Back at the Duluth Public Library with Free, Live Music for the Community

City Sounds, the Duluth Public Library's summer concert series, is back with the sounds of jazz, swing, Latin, and more, on Thursday nights. Starting Thursday, July 30 at 5:30 p.m., at the Main Library, community members are invited to stop by and enjoy free, live performances by talented local groups.

The shows are held, rain or shine, on the library's covered outdoor plaza, on Michigan Street. Performances begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 6:45. There will be open space to get up, dance, and move to the music. Seating will be provided but attendees are welcome to bring their own chairs. All ages are welcome! Lineup found below.

The Windjammers

The Windjammers are a well-established big band, recognized for playing classic big band, swing, and ballroom dance music from the 1920s through the 1940s.

Blue Water Big Band

Blue Water Big Band is a popular Twin Ports ensemble known for  lively performances of 1930s–60s era music, including swing, Latin, and 1950s rock.

Big Time Jazz Orchestra

The Big Time Jazz Orchestra calls Duluth, Minnesota home and is comprised of the finest big band jazz musicians in the Northland.

Duluth Symphonic Winds

Duluth Symphonic Winds is a community band in Duluth. They welcome all musicians, of all ages and skill levels. Expect to see your neighbors, coworkers, and students playing in this concert!
