Update to Friday, July 3 Shooting Incident

Update:

Today, July 20, the Duluth Police Department arrested two individuals connected to the shooting that occurred on Friday, July 3 in the area of North 9th Avenue East and 7th Street. 36-year-old Daniel Nelson was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail for pending charges of 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, and Threats of Violence. A 17-year-old juvenile male was also arrested and lodged at Arrowhead Juvenile Center for pending charges of 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm under the age of 18.

On Friday, July 3, Duluth Police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of North 9th Avenue East and 7th Street. Upon arrival, there were two victims that were transported to a local hospital. One individual was in critical condition and is now in stable condition, the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A person of interest has been detained. This incident is in its preliminary stages. Once there’s more information to provide, we will provide an update.
