Incident at Harbor Highlands
At approximately 1 a.m., Friday, July 3, Duluth Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of East Harbor Highlands. Upon arrival, Officers locate a 17-year-old male victim with a head injury and a semi-automatic pistol near him. Initial information shows there was a party and three masked males attempted to crash the party. While attempting to enter the residence, one male displayed a firearm. The 17-year-old male victim confronted the individuals with his own firearm and was pistol whipped. During the confrontation, a firearm was discharged. No one was shot during this incident. The suspected males fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The 17-year-old male victim was treated at a local hospital and was lodged at Arrowhead Juvenile Center for Possession of a Pistol without a Permit and Carrying while Intoxicated. This remains an active and ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
