Bayfront Park to host a spectacular Independence Day celebration featuring one of the region’s largest fireworks displays with Lake Superior providing the natural air conditioning
[DULUTH, MN] This Fourth of July, Minnesota is invited to head north to Duluth for a celebration 250 years in the making.
As communities across the state prepare to mark America’s semi-quincentennial, Duluth will host an historic Independence Day celebration at Bayfront Festival Park featuring the largest fireworks display the city has seen in years set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Superior.
While much of Minnesota will be searching for shade and air conditioning, Duluth will be offering something better: a naturally air-conditioned Fourth of July experience.
“Lake Superior has been connecting Duluth to the world for centuries, and it's also our own natural air conditioner. And this year it’s the perfect setting to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday,” said Mayor Roger Reinert. “We’re excited to invite visitors from across the state to come north and enjoy a meaningful day of community, spectacular night of fireworks, in one of the most beautiful places to celebrate Independence Day.”
The celebration will feature:
- A major fireworks display lighting up the Duluth waterfront
- Family-friendly festivities at Bayfront Festival Park
- Stunning views of the greatest lake in the world
- A uniquely Duluth Fourth of July experience where the breeze off Lake Superior is a welcome part of the show.
Whether you’re looking for a new family tradition, a weekend getaway, or simply a place to celebrate without melting in the summer heat, Duluth is the place to be this Fourth of July. “Bring your family. Bring your friends. And, bring a jacket just in case,” said Mayor Reinert. “Duluthians never leave the house without being ready to layer.”
