2026 Torch Run for Special Olympics Minnesota

This year, Duluth will be the ‘Final Leg Team’ for the Special Olympic-Minnesota. Duluth Police, UMD Police, City of Duluth staff, and Special Olympic athletes will carry the ‘Flame of Hope’ from Park Point near the Coast Guard Station to Priley Circle at City Hall and continue from there. A ceremony will take place at Priley Circle at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 16.

The Special Olympics USA Games will be in Minneapolis from June 20-26. It will be one of the largest U.S. sporting events of the year, drawing thousands of fans to celebrate the ability of over 3,000 athletes from all 50 states as they participate in 16 Olympic-type team and individual sports.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run raises awareness and funds towards Special Olympics Minnesota.

The public and media are encouraged to attend the event at Priley Circle as well as line the route from Park Point to City Hall to show your support for Officers and Athletes from around the country.
