Structure fire on 900 block of E Third Street

[DULUTH, MN] On Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 6:20 AM, Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to the 900 block of E Third Street for a report of a possible structure fire. A passerby called 911 and reported seeing flames on the front porch of six-unit housing structure.  

Firefighters from Downtown Headquarters, Lincoln Park, UMD, and Lakeside stations responded to the incident. The fire started on the structure’s front porch and extended into the building. The building’s residents were all able to self-evacuate safely. No injuries were reported.

The building sustained at least $75K in smoke, fire, and water damage. At least three residents are displaced. The American Red Cross are assisting the displaced residents. The incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s office.
