Duluth Public Library Invites Community to "Plant a Seed, Read" This Summer

[DULUTH, MN] The Duluth Public Library invites readers of all ages to join the 2026 Summer Reading Program, "Plant a Seed, Read," running June 1 through August 15, 2026.

Designed for children, teens, and adults alike, the Summer Reading Program celebrates curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning through the simple act of reading. Community members are encouraged to explore new ideas, discover new stories, and grow together all summer long.

Participants can sign up using the Beanstack app or pick up a paper reading tracker from library staff at any Duluth Public Library location. Readers can log their reading minutes throughout the summer to track progress toward personal goals and become eligible to win fun prizes.

The program is free and open to everyone. Whether you are reading picture books with a child, diving into an escapist novel, researching a new nonfiction interest, or listening to audiobooks, every minute spent reading helps plant the seeds for learning and growth.

"Summer reading is for everyone," said Youth Librarian Tana Lucero. "Reading helps build imagination, knowledge, connection, and confidence at every age. We're excited to welcome the whole community to participate together."

Library staff are available to help participants get started and answer questions throughout the summer.

For more information, visit the Duluth Public Library or speak with library staff.
