Structure Fire
The Duluth Fire Department responded for a report of a trailer house on fire in Vintage Acres in Duluth early on Tuesday morning. Initial reports were that it was unknown if anyone was inside. Crews from 10 Satation, 8 Station, 2 Station and Headquarters responded. 10 Engine arrived and found there was heavy smoke in the area and found flames beginning to come through the roof on the home. Crews immediately attacked the fire and quickly knocked it down. Crews then began to search for any occupants and found the building was clear. Duluth Police Officers had also arrived on scene and met with the occupants who verified that everyone was out. Crews searched for any fire extention and ensured the fire was completely extinguished. Both occupants were evaluated by May Clinic Ambulance and were transported to the hospital for evaluation for minor smoke inhalation. A neighbor is credited with noticing the fire, alerting 911 and helping to notify the occupants to evacuate. The two occupants were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross. Damage is estimated at $80,000.
