City of Duluth announces 2026 Zenith Awards for Plan Implementation

[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth Planning and Development Division will present the 2026 Zenith Awards at the April 14 Planning Commission meeting at 5:00 pm in City Council Chambers.

Zenith Awards are awarded to projects and or people who implement the governing principles within the Duluth Comprehensive Plan. Guiding principles can be found on the City’s website at https://duluthmn.gov/planning-development/guiding-documents/.

Two recipients will be honored with the Zenith Awards. The first award will be presented to Brian Forcier for his Force on 5th conversion project. The Planning Commission recognizes the project as an implementation of the Duluth Comprehensive Plan, including its conversion from an office building to residential use, filling a need for short-term housing. The project is also recognized for the quality of workmanship in the building.

The second award will be presented to Simco for its housing on Commonwealth Avenue. The commission is recognizing the project for its fulfillment of needed housing, the exemplification of infill housing on existing roadways/infrastructure, and for its form and aesthetic, which contribute positively to the neighborhood and streetscape.

The City of Duluth congratulates the 2026 Zenith Awards recipients for their valued work on these projects.
