Aerial Lift Bridge lakeside pedestrian walkway closed to public due to falling ice

 

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth warns the public of hazardous falling ice on the Aerial Lift Bridge’s pedestrian walkways following recent weather conditions. Ice falling from the upper sections of the bridge is creating a safety hazard on the open walkways.

 

Out of an abundance of caution, the east, or lakeside, pedestrian walkway is closed to foot traffic today, but the bayside walkway will remain open for pedestrians. Pedestrians should be vigilant, use caution, and be aware that ice may fall onto the walkway without notice. The conditions are expected to remain hazardous into the weekend.

 

Aerial Lift Bridge operations thanks residents for exercising caution while crossing the bridge.
