City of Duluth Parking Services to implement on-street parking changes
[DULUTH, MN] The City of Duluth’s Parking Services Division will begin implementation of some changes to paid single-stall, on-street parking in the coming weeks. These changes include the conversion from coin-operated parking meters to digital payments via the Park Duluth app, as well as a rate increase from $1.50 per hour to $2.00 per hour. Duluth’s Parking Commission approved the rate increase late in 2025 and is being rolled out in conjunction with the removal of the coin-operated meters. Motorists will have three options to pay for single-stall parking: by using the Park Duluth app’s payment integration, by QR code, or by text-to-park. In zone locations where a payment kiosk is available, cash transactions will still be accepted.
Motorists will still be able to use the coin-operated meters until they’ve been physically removed and replaced with Park Duluth zone identifier signage (see photo). Once the signage is installed, motorists will be expected to pay electronically for their parking using one of the three digital payment options on the signage. This change will be implemented in phases, one parking zone at a time, and will be completed sometime later in spring.
The City of Duluth’s Parking Services Division thanks motorists for their patience while these changes are put into operation.
