Media Advisory: Lyric Opera of the North to perform Songs of Love at Duluth City Hall tomorrow

[DULUTH, MN] As part of Mayor Reinert’s 2026 Artists in Residence programming, Lyric Opera of the North (LOON) will perform on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at noon in the first floor rotunda of Duluth City Hall. The public is invited to this free, lunch hour performance, which will consist of “Songs of Love,” performed by LOON’s General Artistic Directors, Cal Metts and Sarah Lawrence. The two singers will be accompanied by pianist Bill Munson.

 

LOON was chosen as Mayor Reinert’s Artists in Residence for 2026, and was welcomed into City Hall on January 21 to begin a monthly performance series at City Hall and to display historical set pieces, promotional posters, and photographs in the Mayor’s Reception Room.

 

Friday, March 6, 2026, the Little LOON touring company will present highlights from this year's touring production The Elixir of Love. Additional dates will be announced later in the year.

 

LOON’s monthly performance series is made possible by the Boreal Waters Foundation.
