Male Arrested for Robbery Incident
At approximately 9:50 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, Duluth Police responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at Security Jewelers (307 West Superior Street). Upon arrival, officers spoke to employees who stated a male, later identified as 24-year-old Jaquay Hassell, took a watch and stated he had a firearm. Hassell fled the scene on foot. A short time later, K9 Fitz was utilized and tracked Hassell to the fourth floor of the parking ramp. Hassell was arrested and no firearm was located on his persons. Hassell will be lodged at the St. Louis County Jail for pending charges of Aggravated Robbery and Misdemeanor Obstruction.
Good work to A Crew and DPD's CE-POP Unit for quickly apprehending Hassell and holding him accountable.
