Structure fire on 4200 block of Gladstone Street
[DULUTH, MN] At 11:36 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, Duluth Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire on the 4200 block of Gladstone Street. Firefighters from the Lakeside station were first to arrive and observed heavy fire on all four sides of the single-family residential structure with attached garage. Crews from Downtown Headquarters, UMD, and Woodland also responded.
All four human occupants of the home had safely self-evacuated before firefighters arrived on scene, but the family’s two cats were still inside the structure. Firefighters located the two family pets alive in the basement and were able to rescue them.
No injuries were reported in the incident. The structure sustained a roof collapse and significant fire and water damage. Damage estimates are not known at this time. Four residents are displaced. The incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s office.
Duluth Fire Department thanks its partners at Saint Louis County/911 dispatch, Minnesota Power, and City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities for their assistance in the response.
