Structure Fire on 200 block of S 37th Avenue W
[DULUTH, MN] Duluth Fire Department responded at 11:57 am, Sunday, November 16, 2025 to a report of a structure fire at the CN rail facility and ore docks on the 200 block of S 37th Avenue W. Crews arrived to find a maintenance shed on top of the loading docks on the property fully involved in fire. CN staff assisted crews in stretching hose from the house line to make an initial attack on the fire. 1 Engine, 7 Engine and 1 Tower worked together to draft additional water out of the bay, advance it down the docks and up to the upper level as a back-up water source. Crews from Downtown, Lincoln Park, Duluth Heights, and Spirit Valley assisted in the response and were able to keep the shed fire from spreading to the ore docks or other structures on the property.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Damage to the maintenance shed is estimated at $60K. The incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s office.
Duluth Fire Department thanks its partners St. Louis County/911 dispatch and the staff at CN Railway for their assistance in the response.
