Duluth Parks and Recreation to hold community input session regarding Park Point Recreation Area concept plans on August 18

[DULUTH, MN] Duluth Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with its’ partner, LHB, is developing a Park Point Recreation Area plan. The plan development will allow parks planners to examine existing facilities, explore and identify opportunities for improvement, and engage with community members to ensure the future park plan reflects local values and priorities.

Using input from a community survey conducted earlier this summer, LHB’s design team developed several preliminary concept plans for the Park Point Recreation Area. Each conceptual plan shows different options for revitalizing the Recreation Area and for creation of a hub for recreation, community activities, and enjoying nature. Duluth Parks and Recreation is excited to share these concept plans with the community and seeks feedback and ideas from community members.

A community input session will be held on Monday, August 18 from 5pm – 7pm at Lafayette Community Center, 3016 Minnesota Avenue. The first half-hour will contain a presentation of concept plans by LHB, with the latter 90 minutes consisting of a community review and input session on concept plans. Members of the public are welcome to attend this event and make their voices heard.
