Structure Fire at 4913 Main Street

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] Duluth Fire Department responded at 2:49 pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025 to a report of a structure fire at 4913 Main Street. Crews responded to the Minnesota Power Hibbard Renewable Energy Center where the wood in an estimated 20,000 square foot storage structure had ignited. The structure had an operational deluge fire suppression system that was working to keep the fire under control, allowing DFD firefighters to quickly knock down the fire, and allowing the five responding companies from Lincoln Park, Downtown, and Spirit Valley send most companies back into service, two ladder companies remaining to fight the fire.

Power generation was not impacted during the incident. No injuries were reported in the incident. The damage to the structure is still being assessed at the time of this press release’s distribution.
