Structure fire on 2200 block of Piedmont Avenue

 

 

[DULUTH, MN] Duluth Fire Department responded at 8:59 pm yesterday evening to a report of a structure fire at 2204 Piedmont Avenue. Crews arrived to find a commercial space with an apartment above it with visible smoke coming from the back side of the upper floor of the structure. The apartment tenants self-evacuated safely. Crews from downtown, Duluth Heights, Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley, and UMD quickly knocked down the fire.

 

No injuries were reported in the incident. Two residents were displaced. Damage to the structure is estimated at $80K. The incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal.

 

Duluth Fire thanks its partners at the Duluth Police Department, Minnesota Power, and Saint Louis County 911 Dispatch for their assistance in the incident response.
