Structure fire on 800 block of N 43rd Avenue W

 

[DULUTH, MN] Duluth Fire Department was dispatched at 3:59 PM today, March 12, 2025, to a report of a garage fire on the 800 block of N 43rd Avenue W. 2 Engine was first on scene and quickly knocked down flame in a two and a half-stall detached garage. Crews from Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley, and Headquarters responded to the incident.

The garage’s interior was fully drywalled, which hampered the fire’s damage and spread. Typically, ½” drywall carries a fire rating of 30 minutes, and 5/8” drywall carries a one-hour fire rating. Damage to the structure is estimated at $5000, and damage to the garage’s contents is estimated at $10k.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s office. Duluth Fire Department thanks Duluth Police Department and St. Louis County 911 dispatch for their assistance in this incident.
