Duluth Fire Department responds to structure fire Saturday afternoon on Baylis Street
[DULUTH, MN] At 2:12 PM Saturday, Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at a four-unit residential housing structure on Baylis Street.
Crews from Miller Hill, Headquarters, UMD, and Lincoln Park responded to attack the fire. Flames had involved the porch, part of the roof, and eventually, the attic of the structure. Crews from Spirit Valley were later dispatched to assist in the operation.
All residents of the fourplex present during the incident were successfully evacuated. There were no reported injuries. Three of the four units received smoke and water damage. Two of the units received fire damage. Three of the four units are uninhabitable as of this evening, but one of those three affected units was unoccupied. Estimated damage to the structure is between $300K and $400K. This incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s office.
