New Lakewalk extension to open Friday, October 22nd
The newest expansion of the Duluth Lakewalk, which will extend the eastern end of the popular walkway from 47th Avenue East to 60th Avenue East, will officially open in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, October 22nd.
Mayor Don Ness will take part in the cereomony, which will begin at noon at the 47th Avenue East section.
The extension being opened Friday is the third of five planned phases which will eventually expand the Lakewalk to Brighton Beach. Phase 4 will further extend the walkway to Highway 61. Federal Enhancement Grant money has already been secured for all phases of the planned expansion.
