7th Annual Cold Front happening on Saturday

[DULUTH, MN] Duluth Parks and Recreation division will host the seventh annual Cold Front on Saturday, February 3 at Bayfront Festival Park. Residents and guests are invited to participate in this free, family-friendly celebration of the best of winter fun festival regardless of warmer temperature forecasts. Parking in the park-adjacent lots is also free.

New this year to Cold Front is a sensory tent. Additionally, the sensory guide is available for guests who would have a better experience by having advance sensory information. Find it on the Cold Front website at coldfrontduluth.com/media/a15hcm4n/cold-front-sensory-guide.pdf.

Also new to Cold Front this year is S’mores with the Mayor—a chance to converse with Mayor Roger J. Reinert while eating free s’mores around the bonfire pits—from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.

Returning this year, regardless of the weather, will be the luge sledding hill and snow play area, thanks to the trucked-in clean snow that was delivered to the park by the City’s Parks Maintenance team.

Due to the lack of available snow, the cross-country ski loop and youth sled dog rides are cancelled. Ice skating could also be limited or cancelled, depending on the ice conditions on the day of the event. Temperatures may impact further event scheduling, and the schedule on the website will be adapted as needed.

A full and updated schedule of events is available at coldfrontduluth.com/schedule/. Conditions may vary based on weather leading up to and on the day of the event.
