The Duluth Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area and Duluth Parks and Recreation to host Volunteer Stewardship Workdays this autumn in City of Duluth parks
[DULUTH, MN] The Duluth Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (Duluth CISMA) is leading volunteer stewardship workdays to control invasive buckthorn in City parks this fall. Volunteers will learn plant identification, see rare ecosystems, connect with others, get exercise, and more.
No experience is necessary, and all equipment and instruction are provided. Preregistration is required and can be found on The Stewardship Network: https://www.stewardshipnetwork.org/communities/duluth-cisma/ under the Duluth CISMA.
If a workday must be canceled due to inclement weather (or any other reason), registered participants will receive an email. Please wear appropriate clothing for outdoor work, including long pants, long sleeves, and work boots. Bring drinking water, work gloves, and eye protection such as safety glasses if you have them. Volunteer Stewardship Workdays 2023
-Sunday, October 15, 1-3 PM at Chambers Grove Park/Duluth Natural Area St. Louis River--Meet at the pavilion.
-Saturday, October 28, 9 AM-12 PM at Chester Park (Note: This event is part of the Chester Bowl Park Hill Clean Up. Please visit the Chester Bowl Website for more information). Meet outside the Improvement Club Building near the ski hill
-Saturday, November 4, 1-3 PM at Lester Park. Meet at the pavilion near the playground.
-Saturday, November 11, 10-11 AM Hartley Park/Duluth Natural Area (part of Hartley’s Stewardship Day events).
