Portion of Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail closed for construction
[DULUTH, MN] Due to shoreline damage from previous storm events and elevated water levels, a portion of Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail between west of Milford Street and Bayhill Drive (see map below) will be closed for construction, starting Tuesday, June 20. The trail is expected to reopen for public use by Saturday, June 24. Trail users should avoid this area during the closure and use the Willard Munger State Trail as a detour, with access via 72nd Ave West/Pulaski Street to the east and via Spring Street/Riverside Drive to the west.
This shoreline repair work is made possible through Federal Emergency Management Agency funding contributions.
