 Bentleyville Transformation Begins at Bayfront

It may feel like fall outside, but it will soon start to look a lot more like Christmas at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth.

Crews will begin raising the 30 ft.x 60 ft. big-top-style yellow tent at 5:00pm on Wednesday, September 22nd in preparation for the Bentleyville Tour of Lights at Bayfront. This will be followed by the delivery of five semi-truck loads of holiday lights and decorations on Thursday and Friday.

The Bentleyville Tour of Lights is a massive free annual family holiday light show, complete with Santa, holiday music and fire pits for roasting marshmallows.  Approximately 150,000 people visited the display last season.  This year, the display opens a week earlier; it will illuminate Bayfront on November 20th, which is the day after the Christmas City of the North Parade.

Such an event takes a tremendous amount of volunteer power as well!  Anyone who is able to lend a hand with set-up is encouraged to stop down to Bayfront Park from 8:30am-4pm on Saturday September 25th.  Volunteers are needed every Saturday and Sunday 8:30 -4:00 pm through November 6th, as well as Wednesday nights from 5 -8 pm.
