Duluth Fire and Marine 19 rescue three in water emergency off shore of Park Point

[Duluth, MN] This afternoon, the Duluth Fire Department responded to a water emergency at 4800 Minnesota Avenue on Park Point.

Initial reports were that three young adults had overturned their jet ski and it took on water, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Friends of the three young adults called 911, and DFD was dispatched.

DFD’s Marine 19 was launched upon arrival, located the three young adults, and brought them safely and swiftly to shore. The three young adults were not injured in the incident.

Duluth Fire was assisted by the US Coast Guard and St. Louis County Rescue Squad. All three agencies worked together to locate and assist as needed. Duluth Police Department remained on scene for assistance, if needed.

Marine 19 is the Duluth Fire Department's all-hazard marine vessel used for water rescues and both marine and structural fires in the Duluth-Superior Harbor. It operates with four members that are staffed at the Duluth Fire Department's Downtown Station.

Duluth Fire is proud to serve the port of Duluth and Superior with Marine 19.
