Portion of Hartley Park parking lot and Old Hartley Road trailhead closed through September 9

[Duluth, MN] A portion of the Hartley Park parking lot and the adjacent trailhead to Old Hartley Road will be closed from Monday, August 29 through Friday, September 9 to accommodate a Tischer Creek culvert replacement project. The area outlined in the included image will be an active construction zone with no public access during that timeframe.

Trail users can access Old Hartley Road via the pathways near Hartley Nature Center, which bypass the construction zone. Bicycles are not permitted to be ridden on these trails, and should be walked through this detour area. Alternatively, users should consider alternative access locations, which include Fairmont Street, the south end of Old Hartley Road, Catherine Street, North Road, Marshall Street, and Northfield Street.

This project is being led by South St. Louis Soil and Water Conservation District and is supported by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources through the Conservation Partners Legacy fund, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration through Minnesota’s Lake Superior Coastal Program, and Minnesota Trout Unlimited. Any questions regarding this project may be directed to Tim Beaster, Conservation Specialist, South St. Louis Soil and Water Conservation District, at 218-723-4867 or tim.beaster@southstlouisswcd.org
