Portion of Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail closed for construction

[Duluth, MN] Due to shoreline damage from previous storm events and elevated water levels, a portion of Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail between 72nd Avenue West and 85th Avenue West will be closed for approximately five weeks. Trail users are encouraged to avoid this area and use the Willard Munger State Trail as a detour, with access via 72nd Avenue West/Pulaski Street to the east and via Spring Street/Riverside Drive to the west. This shoreline repair work is made possible through Federal Emergency Management Agency funding contributions. The impacted portion of the trail is expected to be restored and open for public use by the end of September.
